So, you’ve decided to download an older version of Mac OS X. The RasMol Classic Site (written in 1995-2000) offers help for beginners and reference materials for advanced users, but these have not been updated to the current RasMol version. RasMol.Org offers downloads of the latest and most powerful version, along with the corresponding reference manual.
You will also need to make similar settings for the sample data files in the data directory.
Important Note for Mac OS X: If you simply unpack the tar under Mac OS X, but use an application to compile, such a CW 5.3, to compile under Mac Classic, you will need to set the creator and type using SetFile in the Apple Developer Tools. Mac users can use Virtual PC, but it is not free software. There is nothing to install (except maybe java) and everything works on Windows, Mac OS X, and linux.
